Applications

Lifting Manhole Covers

Description

The CL11 magnetic lifter has a curved base, offering ideal contact for round covers with an external frame made from cast iron and a centre disc in concrete/asphalt/stones.

This tool can also lift other common covers and grilles made from cast iron and ferrous materials.

The CL11 features an extending side foot (see A) that gives the correct geometry when lifting hinged covers with the handle locked into a horizontal position (see the side foot extended in below operation 3).

The handle is telescopic and folding, minimising the space needed for transportation and storage.

This particular tool allows versatility of use in three ways. The plate, with 17 powerful neodymium magnets, gives a lifting force of 300kg (in ideal conditions) and a weight of just 7kg.

Instructions

MANUAL LIFTING WITH MAGNETIC PLATE
CL 11 is placed on the cover in the position nearest to the frame giving solid and secure magnetic hold. The telescopic handle allows the operator to manually lift and move the majority of covers. A strong sideways stroke is enough to detach the tool. Operation is simple, fast and safe.

LIFTING WITH APS90 AND APS80 LEVERS
Lifting using CL 11 with the folding levers eliminates potential back injury. The operational weight becomes an advantage due to the downward pushing action that stretches the vertebrae and back muscles. Operation is simple, fast and safe.

MANUAL LIFTING WITH HANDLE BLOCKED HORIZONTALLY TO LIFT HINGED ROUND COVERS
By simply changing the position of a pin, it is possible to lock the telescopic handle into a horizontal position. The ideal lifting geometry is obtained by extending the back foot. In this configuration, the tool will become a practical, long, rigid handle that will make lifting and opening hinged round covers easy. Operation is simple, safe and fast.
